Chandler is a city located in Maricopa County, Arizona. It is a suburb of Phoenix, and is situated south of Tempe, East of Phoenix, and West of Gilbert. The city of Chandler started life as a ranch owned by Dr. Alexander John Chandler, the first veterinary surgeon in Arizona. The townsite office opened on May 17, 1912.
